gather and watch as I collapse
all that I am, falling to scraps
of thought, nay, judgement, lapse
a stirring, yet, peeks from the gaps
roots and shoots dart furtively through
settling in old grounds to grow me anew
hoping to build tight and to hold true
pulling me together as if it knew
who we were before, what we had been through
so watch our decision; say “no” to perhaps
as we embrace it all fully, fall into the traps
that led us here now, and to our relapse:
gather and watch as we collapse
