Earthbound
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Sit, Write
What do you want to be when you grow up?
And she’s sweeter than honey
And just unbearably shy
Of dispositions: sunny,
And brighter than the sky
Something unrequited
that can never quite be had
Love or lust that’s out of reach
just fanciful and sad
This poem is about cancer.
Does our presence change the air?
Are places differed by our being there?
This is the opening poem for my sci-fi novel: A World Sings Itself.
Maybe you’ll hear some more about it, in the future?
It brushes the ears
And sweeps the nose
Harkens fears
And hastens woes
